A change from Christmas

Welcome back

Only five more sleeps, I am sure all the littlies are starting to get excited

My card today has a background piece, where I coloured one side of the EF with a mauve ink pad, before running through my cuttlebug. It has highlighted the design nicely

I stamped my butterfly (Martha Stewart) onto a scrap of card that I had been experimenting with different sprays. I also cut some narrow strips to use as a background to the butterfly. The sentiment is die cut from a scrap of black card

Another Christmas Card

 Hi everyone
Sorry I have been MIA for a while as I have been unable to use my right arm and hand properly after an angiography which left me black and blue from hand to elbow. It is slowly healing but still quite technicolour!

Back to my card, which I had made before this happened.
I followed a design I saw from Liz McGuire at buttonsforbrains as I really liked the layout.
I raided my scrap box to find some suitable papers, used some washi tape, stamped and embossed snowflakes, stamped my snowman on a scrap and cut him out, coloured his scarf and hat with Promarkers  R766 Molten Red and added some sparkly KindyGlitz to his hat.
Thanks Liz for a lovely design

Blue and Green

Welcome, I hope you are all well.

Today's card was made with an embossing folder That I had sponged ink onto, to give my pretty blue/green background. I then used markers to colour the raised areas. Blues and greens are my favourite colours, because we live at a beach, and I love to watch the changing colours of the water - so soothing

Festive

Hello, and thank you for visiting my blog today

I was inspired to make this card after seeing a post by Kath Stewart, so this is my interpretation, as I do not have the new cat stamps (I wish)
I started by making masks for the moon and snow from some scrap paper. I used 'black soot' and 'fossilized amber' distress inks to make the sky, and spritzed to make the colours run a little. After drying I used a very old Penny Black stamp (2001 - snowflake border) to stamp the snowflakes and embossed with detail white EP
I coloured my crazy bird with the following Promarkers
R766,  V546,  V528,  M419,  Y247
The sentiments are from a Clearly Besotted set called 'Rockin Robin'
I added a little 'hickory smoke' DOX to define the edge of the snow and a ground for the bird.

Hello all

A last minute entry for the Allsorts challenge of 'cute Christmas'
I attached some dp of Christmas trees to a dark green card base, diecut my snowman from some white card, and glued him to the left side. I coloured the little bird with a red Promarker and attached the red coloured peeloff to a scrap of white card.
An effective quick and easy card to add to my Christmas box

Steampunk

Welcome everyone

Today I have 2 ATC's to share with you, something I have not made for such a long time, and I had forgotten how much fun they are
The theme is steampunk and I have printed my background images and added embellishments. The bicycle one is printed over the background, and touched up with a black gellyroll pen.
The cogs are stamped with Hickory Smoke DOX.
I added some  distressed silver peeloffs to both, and the first one has an old watch face attached.
The edges are sponged with Black Soot DI
I would like to enter into the new  Steampunk Challenge #1

I then decided to make these into cards

I dry embossed 2 pieces of mirror card and swiped over the raised surface with Brilliance graphite black, then heat embossed with a black EP
Layered with black and then onto a black card base

Pretty Butterflies

Hi everyone
The challenge this week for Sketch Saturday is to use one of the sketches from  2016
I have chosen #394 for my card. I have used this gorgeous digi that I won from Stamplorations, and re-sized it to fit on an angle on my white card. I have coloured with copics to match my base card. I added a strip of black that I punched with a Fiskars border punch and the stamp is from a set by Clearly Besotted stamps

Bird in a cage

Hi everyone, and welcome to my blog today

I have managed to find some time this morning to make a couple of cards, and this is the first one.
I used shaded lilac, broken china, wilted violet, and mermaid lagoon distress inks to make my background. I pressed the colours onto a stamping block, then spritzed with water, and layered the colours onto my art paper, drying in between. I also added a splat stamp and postmark stamp, both by Paper Artsy.
I cut out the bird in the cage on my Silhouette Cameo, and added a little colour to the edges.
The sentiment is clear embossed, and the the piece was attached to a matching card base.

The centre flower uses 3 die-cuts from my scrap box and the black stamens is a punch

Bold and Bright

Welcome crafty friends
Today's card follows the sketch at Sketch Saturday, a fun way of using scraps.
I cut 3 colours at 1.5 cm and random lengths, which I cut on angles.
I glued them to my white piece in no particular order. I layered my white circle, stamped with a lovely yacht (unknown) onto a red stitched circle. The yacht was coloured with Promarkers, molten red and cloud blue, then the whole piece glued to a dark blue card base

Sketch Saturday

Hi everyone

We are back in lockdown level 3 so I have had some time to make this card.
I have used the sketch at a 'new to me' challenge blog called Sketch Saturday, to make this card. The sunflower is a very old Hero Arts stamp, coloured with the following Promarkers
Y247 summer sum
Y337 tulip yellow
Y417 buttercup
O949 pastel yellow
O345 saddle brown
O727 caramel

I used some snippets of DP for the background and stamped the message with GinaK amalgam

'Latte'

Welcome to my blog today and welcome to my new follower Sally Bownes

I have made this card for my son's birthday, which is later this month, but have to post it overseas, so good to get it done early

I used a coffee ring stencil with walnut stain DI directly onto my kraft card base
The coffee pot is a Stamplorations sticker which I applied to a scrap of kraft card, and the sentiment I found on my pc, but have no idea where I got it from. I coloured the latte word with a black gelly roll glaze pen, which gives a lovely shine

'Girl Power'

Hi and welcome to today's blog post.

I have switched back to the legacy version as I cannot seem to get rid of the extra redirect step on the new version. I hope they can fix this ASAP

Today's card is from a set by 'Acid Drops & Whatnots' who I believe have now closed. Such a shame, as I loved their designs.
I stamped with black GinaK ink and clear embossed, both the image and the message
I have coloured with the following Promarkers
C446 Marine
G956 Ocean Teal
Y247 Summer Sun

The panel was then layered onto a matching coloured base

Friends are Flowers

Hello to my crafty friends and new followers, Crystal O Minkler and Cindy Holmes

Today's card uses a piece from my experiments box, distress inks on watercolour paper, for the background.
I stamped the Crafty Individual's CI-385 with Emerald Lagoon DI and embossed with Dyeboss EP
I stamped the sentiment (an old one from Printworks) in the same colour and cut it up so that I could attach to the side without covering the flowers.
I added a little  of the same colour to the dragonfly and also some sparkle with a Sakura Gellyroll pen
Layered onto a pretty turquoise base card
