It's your Birthday

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas with lots of crafty gifts

Today's card uses a Happy Hoppers stamp HHCW01, it does not have a name.

I stamped directly onto my card base and again on a scrap of yellow card. After colouring the dots with an orange marker, I fussy cut the kite and the tail ties and glued them to the image. I don't know who the sentiment image is by, as I won it in a parcel of crafty goodies from Chris Dayton

I drew some sketchy lines around the edge to finish off

Trees in the snow

Welcome back.

Another CAS Christmas card. I raided my scrap box and diecut a wavy shape to represent snow. I then embossed with an un-named Sizzix EF, edged with a green Copic marker, and attached to my card front. The trees were cut from some scraps of Designer papers. I also cut 2 tiny snowflakes and coloured them olive green to match the trees. These wee snowflakes are a favourite to use on my Christmas cards, as they add just a little bit extra to the design. Pearls were added for a finishing touch

The sentiment is from a set by Colorado Craft Company called Christmas Tree Cat, which I stamped with Memento Olive Grove

Let your feet wander

Today's card was an amazing experience for me. I followed a tutorial by Jolande van Oosterhout and her instructions were so good. Mixed media is something I would like to get into so this was a great start.

I used tissue paper, gesso, pencil (trees and moon) watercolour pencils and stamp set from Tim Holtz (birds) and the sentiment I think is from Unity

Shades of teal

Hi Everyone
I loved yesterday's card so much, that I made another one in the same style
My stamp is unknown, and if anyone does know it I would love to know the details.
I stamped with Brilliance Graphite black and clear embossed.
The colouring was done with Memento teal zeal and two different Inkit ink pads. I smooched them onto my TH glass mat, added some water, and used a paint brush to colour
I have again doodled around the image, trimmed and mounted onto some teal card and adhered to a white card base

Another Merry Christmas

Hi everyone
This scan looks as though the right side of the card has been trimmed wrong, but I can assure you it is correct IRL!

I have directly coloured with Memento dewdrops (thank you Chris Dayton) in Bamboo Leaves and Lady Bug, my 2003 Penny Black stamp called Brush Holly
I have done some doodling around the image following a tutorial by Natasha Foote, a fellow Kiwi

Hi, another Christmas card today

I have used a stencil (unknown) and Memento Bahama blue to make my pretty snowflakes.

I then ran it through my cuttlebug using a swiss dots embossing folder. The red sticker was adhered to a scrap, and the edges coloured with the stamp pad too. I ran the stamp pad around my base card which was white, to frame the embossed piece

Merry Christmas

Another Christmas card from me today
I watched JoFY on FB showcasing her Let it Snow stamp, but I liked the idea so much I went ahead and followed her idea using what I had.
I cut my kraft card slightly smaller than my white card base. I found a scrap of vellum in my 'bits' box, stamped the sentiment, embossed with white detail EP, and wrapped it around the kraft piece
I then splattered with some watered down white ink, then attached the snowflakes. I coloured only the Merry in a blue pen and added some blue gems too

Hello and Welcome

Today's card follows the sketch from MFT
I have used a pretty soft green DP for my background and cut the strips from some white canvas that was amongst the jumble on my desk
The flowers and bird are from a packet of ephemera from Ultimate Crafts, and the sentiment is from my peeloff mountain

Cat Lovers hop day 5

On my way to get ready for bed, and realized I had not posted my final hop card

I stamped my crazy cat (by Tim Holtz) directly onto a piece of DP and coloured him with grey shades of Copics. I added another strip at the bottom and handcut a flag for the sentiment

BYSH Cardmakers day 7

I am back again with my final entry for the BYSHC blog hop
I cut the pieces for the truck on my Cameo and glued them together, except for the first layer, which has mounting tape in between. I had such a frustrating time trying to get my Cameo to cut, and ended up having to put in a new blade, which solved the problem.
I glued a rectangle of DP to my red card base and then attached the truck.
The Merry Christmas is a sticker.
I will send this one to my 2 grandsons in Sydney, I don't think they will be coming for a holiday again this year because of Covid restrictions.
Thank goodness for Skype!

Timeless Beauty

Back for my second post today

This gorgeous image is for this month's challenge at Fripperies and Butterflies, Gecko Gals Steampunk Challenge
After printing, I chose a dark green base card as it tones so well with the beautiful mask
I adhered a piece of old lace down the side and coloured it with gold paint, and also adding some paint to the top right for interest The clock embellishment also matches the one on the mask

Cat Lovers hop day 4

Hi everyone

BYSH Cardmakers day 6

I spotted this design on one of the blogs that I follow, so this is my version
I stamped onto kraft card and again on a scrap of DP using my Penny Black stamp (dated 2005)
I added a strip of washi across the bottom and then drew a white line either side
I drew the star freehand and outlined it with a black pen, then smudged it a bit
I also drew the black and white lines that the tree is grounded on
Message stamped in Brilliance grahite black

Penny Black Saturday - a/g (I did not use the colour option)

Cat Lovers Hop Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of the Cat Lovers hop

Today's card uses some more cat silhouettes cut on my Cameo. I have them sitting on a wall, which is actually a piece of wallpaper sample! I stamped the message from my Woodware stamp set onto a scrap of black card and embossed in detail white EP

BYSH Cardmakers Day5

My second post for today.
I am still making Christmas cards for the BYSHC blog hop, so that is filling my box nicely.
It is such a great incentive!
Today's card was made with a background of distress inks applied direct to the textured card with a wet wipe. My snowman is a precut one and I coloured the patterned piece from the back so it would show better. I then added a couple of peeloffs from the 'mountain'

Jingle Bells - I hope snowmen are creatures!

Cat Lovers hop day 2

Hello and welcome

It is day 2 of the wonderful cat lovers hop and this is my entry

I printed the digi stamp and coloured with copics, then fussy cut and adhered to a stitched circle

The message was from a dp pad, I thought it went so well with the cat!

Hi everyone and welcome to my new followers, I hope you enjoy your time here

Today's card is a slimline using a panel die that I won from Sue Wilson

BYSHC day 3

Day 3 today for the BYSH cardmakers.
I decided to combine this with the sketch and colours from MFT

I used a lime coloured base card and raided my scrapbox for the two stripes, the oval and the pink poinsettia, and of course a peeloff too

My card for BYSHC day 2. Mostly made from Christmas papers and some tiny white
 snowflakes added

Christmas robins

Welcome back
Today's card uses a technique that I was reminded of recently, using a paper napkin
I cut the birds from another piece and layered them with mounting tape for dimension. I then matted with gold card and adhered to a white card base. Quite pleased with the result.

Winter Illusion

Hello and welcome to a windy Friday. It is a good day to be inside playing in the craft room
After seeing Dawn's card using winter illusion EP, it reminded me that I had some as well. It has such a pretty effect in the light. With this photo I tried to capture both the pink and the turquoise
I first embossed my black card using a Craft Concept EF and then applied Versamark to the flat area. Added the EP and heat set. The sentiment is cut from white card using my Cameo Silhouette.
I diecut the rectangle and adhered to a white card base

Hedgehog Joy

Hello and Welcome

Today's card features a very old Penny Black stamp called Hedgehog Joy, I am not sure if it is still available
I have coloured with my copics and punched out a number of leaves from a multi-coloured DP, which I then adhered over the flowers
The background was an experiment in using up the ink inside gel pens which would no longer write, and then some dried marigold DI sponged over in places. I was quite pleased how this turned out.
I used letter peeloffs to make the word 'happy' because this is what the hedgie feels playing in the autumn leaves!
