Celebrate in green!

Welcome

My card today features one of the birds from Stampers Anonymous. I first adhered a piece of card that I had played with using different paints, and it is much greener IRL. I then stamped my bird, and stamped again on a seperate scrap of card, which I coloured with Copics. The words are from a very useful set from Paperbabe

Girl Power

Welcome
Today's card is for the challenge at Southern Girls where the subject is 'girl power'
I have chosen to use an image of 'Rosie the Riveter' Here is some info about her

Rosie the Riveter is a cultural icon of World War II, representing the women who worked in factories and shipyards during World War II, many of whom produced munitions and war supplies. These women sometimes took entirely new jobs replacing the male workers who joined the military. Wikipedia
I Have layered the image onto a black stitched circle and adhered to some DP and onto my white base card. I printed the words and cut into a fishtail banner. Finished off with some Nuvo drops in Liquid Mercury to represent rivets.
I hope you like it

Live your Dreams

Welcome
Today's card features the beautiful butterfly from Stampin Up - Swallowtail.
I first stamped it with Brilliance 'pearlescence sky blue' using my Misti and then again with vesamark. I have embossed it with Magical Mysteries 'Mermaid Fin'  which  was in a wonderful assortment of goodies that I recently won from Emerald Creek (Thanks so much) Hopefully you can see the beautiful sheen, as it was very
hard to photograph I have cut it out and adhered it to a piece from a Lawn Fawn pad and added a Hero Arts message embossed in gold. I also went around the edge with a very pale grey tombow marker, as this helps the image to stand out

Happy Birthday cupcake

Welcome to my blog and to my new follower, Joanna

Today's card was made for my dil's birthday earlier this week. I saw the design on pinterest and used my lovely cupcake die that I won recently. I cut each piece from scraps 4 times and glued together. The 'icing' was in a chocolate colour and the 'paper' in cream, which I coloured with copics to make stripes. The candle is a real one, which I sliced off some of the back, so that I could adhere it to the card. The w,s and h are hand drawn

Thank you Di

Welcome

Here is a message from Darnell

Di recently celebrated her SEVENTH anniversary as Headmistress of Pixie's, having taken over the beginning of 2012 from the lovely Jules! That's an enormous accomplishment! Not only that, but in addition to the linky for each challenge, Di also offers a generous prize out-of-pocket!

As a celebration we are taking part in a special blog hop to thank Di for all she does.
I am linking my card to the linky party (I Hope)

Sailing!

Hello and welcome to my blog

Today's card features a stamp that I won a few years ago, and I am not sure who it is from. I stamped onto my card, and again onto a snippet of coloured paper. After cutting around the circle, I glued it in position on the design. I sponged around the edges and did not add a sentiment, but left it plain, as I was writing a message inside. I made it for a neighbour when he came home from a hip operation

'free yourself'

Hello and welcome to my blog

Today's card uses the colours that are required for the Rubberdance challenge for this month - pink, teal and grey.

My base card is a very pretty pale grey that has a tiny sparkle in it, but this can only be seen in certain lights. I masked off a strip with some post-it notes and sponged with di 'mermaid lagoon'. I then stamped with the same colour using one of the stamps from the Rubberdance 'Round in Circles' set and the words are from the Artist Plate set. The flower is also from Rubberdance but I don't know what it is called.

'gold'

Hello and welcome to my blog.
Today's card features one of my favourite stamps from Paper Artsy. I have stamped it onto a dp using wilted violet distress ink. I stamped the butterfly part again on an extra piece and went over the outlines with my glue pen. I then laid gold leaf over and rubbed it in. After cutting it out I attached it with a glue dot in the centre. The sentiment is from a set by Lawn Fawn embossed in bright gold. The butterfly looks beautiful IRL, but my scan does not show it up well. Edited to add a photo which shows the gold better

cat lovers day 4

My entry for day 4
This was a free image that I had downloaded, it quite tickled my fancy, as it reminded me of a cat we 'inherited' when we bought a house. It stole a whole fish off the bench that I had got out to prepare for our dinner!
I cut out the rectangle with my Stamplorations die and layered onto a green card blank. Then added a little grass with a copic marker

Blue

Hi everyone,
I have been 'missing in action' for a while as we have been away on a trip in our motorhome. I have been catching up on blogs, and saw there was a challenge at Allsorts for the colour blue, or water.
I had recently made this card, cutting it out with my Cameo and colouring the layered flowers with copics, so thought it would be suitable.
I will add a sentiment when I decide who it is for.

Here is a pic of a lovely weeping cherry tree that I took while we were away. You can just see the top of our motorhome behind the fence

Heavy Metal!

Hi everyone.

First of all a very warm welcome to my new followers, MaryH and Susan. I hope you enjoy your visits

Today's card is an experiment to see if I could print a digi stamp over a distressed background, and I was happy to find that it worked quite well. I cut an oblong from a spare piece of card and used it to mask a frame while I coloured the inner oblong with di's. The digi is one that I have had in my files for some time, and I can't recall where I got it from. I have trimmed the bottom with some musical tape and added a key for embellishment

Hi everyone, it's good to be back, but time is running out for some challenges!
A very warm welcome to my new followers -

Charlene 'White Deer' Heathwood and Mia

My card today is a simple style for a guy, and I have used a new DarkRoom Door stamp that I bought at a recent Craft Show.
I stamped it twice so that I could raise the lens part, which makes it more realistic. The 'smile' is stamped in silver and I outlined it with a white paint Sharpie

ink transfer

Hi everyone, and welcome to my blog
Today I am sharing a mixed media wall art that I have made from a kit.
The big white butterfly is done with the transfer method of printing on wax paper, then laying the image face down and rubbing, to transfer the ink. I have used various other stamps direct to the gessoed base and added some flowers, stencilling, butterflies, and some turquoise colour randomly

Challenges
Paper Artsy - transfers
Southern Girls - a bit flash
