Flower Power

Today's card is inspired by one of the projects at the Paper Artsy blog this week, by Joanne Wardle. I really like her style of cards. I have stencilled my spots, and stamped the branch with an old foam stamp, then added a crochet flower and 2 paper flowers. The sentiment is a stamp from Darkroom Door.

Back Again!

I have been missing from my blog for about six weeks, and this lovely vase of flowers was started before we went away. I have now finished it, and ready to enter some challenges.
The design is from my favourite site - Cardmaking Paradise (the link is over on the right) I cut it on my Cameo, and stamped the flowers and the band with a purple ink, and ran them through my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder to give some texture. The little leaves are a Memory Box die, and I added the label to finish it off. Of course it folds flat for posting!

Art!

The Q and L challenge at
the Craft Barn is to use  Art and/or Road. I have chosen to use Art for mine. This is the first time I have managed to get an entry in on time!
The background was created with the ink from a multi-coloured pen that I could no longer get to write. I opened it up and spread it over the page. The colours blended beautifully and have a lovely metallic sheen IRL.
I then added some texture paste through a dotty stencil, added silver EP and heated it. They bubbled up nicely! I used the art stamp from Stamp-It in the top left and some circles using a lid. The capital A is actually a shiny silver but shows up as black in the scan.
The quote "Imagination without skill gives us modern art" is by Tom Stoppard - I am not sure that I agree with him though

Friends Forever!

This beautiful stamp is the one I chose as my prize at Crafty Individuals. I have used it as a very CAS style for the challenge at
Inspired By Stamping #80 white/sand/coral
I stamped the message in coral and also sponged around the edge to give it a slight frame. The card is actually white!

Love the inspiration!

I was inspired this week by the post on the Paper Artsy blog, by Joanne Wardle. I love her quirky one-layer cards, and this is my take on hers. I used the splatter stamp from HPXT01 with chalk blackboard marker for the blue, and made a wee line stamp from some leftover rubber trim for the pale lime line. The flower is from Darkroom Door, and buttons from my stash. The card is really a rectangle - it is my rubbish photography that has made it look like that!

Simple Christmas

This is the start of my Christmas card box - I hope to do some every month so that it is not such a rush in December.
I have stamped my 2 images with Emboss It clear, and embossed with Detail White EP.
I found a little snippet of silver foil and punched some snowflakes, then added a little turquoise Kindyglitz for a touch of colour

Challenges :-
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - use a sentiment

Time for tea!

I thought I had posted this last week, but it was still waiting!
The background is 'tied together' embossing folder, and I trimmed it to be a little smaller than the card base. The stamp is an unknown brand that I have had a number of years. I have trimmed with a couple of snippets from my ever-growing box, and a pale mauve ribbon.
This is my second entry for

With Love!

This is one of my favourite Crafty Individuals stamps. I used Memento Tuxedo black to stamp with, and stamped the hearts again in red, which I cut out and layered. I slightly tinted the edges and then added a snippet of some pretty red & black lace. The 'danglies' at the bottom are coloured with Smooches and I finished with a peel-off which I tinted to match.

Love!!

Second post for me tonight!
I recently won this digi image, so thought it was quite appropriate for February!
I have coloured it with my promarkers, and sponged the edge with a red ink pad. The background is made from a piece of striped paper, and a snippet of red, which I embossed with my new 'tied together' embossing folder in my Cuttlebug. I used some narrow spotted ribbon over the join, and also added white dots around the edge of the letters.

Birthday

I have two birthdays coming up in February, so have made a start as they have to go overseas.
This one is cased from the one we made at coffee group this week. The 3 banner strips are washi tape, and I stamped one of the flowers from a Simon Says set, and embossed with detail white EP I popped on some candi for the flower centres, and raised them up too. I had just enough of the red card left from the mat to stamp the flowers on.

Abstract!

I have been following with interest Ellen Vargo's posts on the Paper Artsy blog, and loosely followed her instructions to make an A4 abstract background to use on cards. Here are the first 2 I have made.
I have used metallic acrylic paints in various colours, added some subtle stamping, some torn dictionary pieces, and then stamped the flowers from my JoFy set. The 2 sentiment stamps are from Darkroom Door.

Birds of a feather

Today's card was inspired by Clare Lloyd at Paper Artsy. I had to improvise, as I did not have the same stamps etc, but I quite like the result. The circles and branch were from a Jofy set, the birds Hero Arts, and the message was from a Studio G set. I have coloured with mainly Promarkers
I stamped the birds again on a snippet, and they are raised up a little from the card.

There are several challenges in blogland with a 'new' theme, and as I needed some baby cards, I am able to enter with these.
I have cut them on my Cameo using a template from Cardmaking Paradise (see my sidebar for the link - it is a fabulous site) I have sponged the edges with matching ink and added some trimmed paper for the lace. The white one was run through my CB for added texture.

Bird on a wire!

I am challenging myself to use some of the different stamp pads that I have. This one is Kaleidacolor Riviera, and I applied it over the delightful image that I won from Beccy. I had to mask the bird and colour it with Promarkers. I have added some Dimensional magic to his beak and used black Glossy Accent for his eye. I then layered it onto a white card base.

'wish'

An experiment for me today - I am using my favourite mauve/purple colours, but have added rose into the mix for the flowers.
This is a lovely digi that I won at the Fitztown blog, and I have coloured her with promarkers and copics. The doily was sprayed with Dylusions, and also some glimmer spray. I have added diecut flourishes, a layered flower, some tiny punched butterflys, glittered the wings, and stamped the sentiment 'wish' I also added some dimensional magic to the ladybug to highlight it.
I am entering the following challenges

Ink on my fingers - use 'wish'

Graph-it - Anything goes with a happy new colour (rose)

snippets!

I was trimming some edges from a piece for another card, when I realized that they were a perfect match for this one. The original had several embossing folders used, and sponged with DI, and a little gold metallic rub on. The topper was also sponged with DI, and the sentiment and flower were from a selection of  goodies that I won earlier in the year, all layered onto a black card
I would like to enter this in

This is the second card with the LOTV toppers.
I had a little piece of blue spotty paper left over from Christmas cards sitting on my desk, so I sliced it up and popped it on angle. I added a little ship's wheel charm tied with blue cord, and the sentiment is washi tape

Ride em cowboy!

I was lucky enough recently to win a voucher from LOTV and I chose a pad of boy images.
This is the first one I have used - I was going to layer it on the striped paper from my snippet box, but it wasn't quite big enough, so a gave them a bit of a twist instead. I added a little hemp bow and a happy birthday ticket.

I have used some Crafty Individuals stamps on the background, a bit of stencilling and the main images are Jofy. I would also like to enter at Sweet Stamps for Anything Goes

Another card for the 'C' box!
I have used a lovely holly stamp from Penny Black, and stamped onto pearlescent card. The message is stamped on a strip of white, and then layered onto a snippet of red. Finally I added micro beads over the message, using ds tape. It is very sparkly IRL, but doesn't show up in the scan.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

This is my second entry for the Paper Artsy challenge this week.
I had to compromise on a stamp to use as I do not have the star one that Joanne used in her example. I have paper pieced the baubles and added some colour to brighten them a little. For the background, I did a squirt of Dylusions (squeezed orange) then stamped with the little circles from my Jofy set, and also a splatter of orange ink.

Here is my attempt for the Christmas lights example - mine are actually baubles, but I still get the same effect.

one stamp - 3 cards

Darcy at Art and Sole has challenged us to make a number of cards using one main stamp. This is my first one, I first stamped the border on the base card, the stamped again on a red card and gold embossed. The top layer was stamped and embossed with Detail white EP. I then lightly coloured the white edge with the same blue ink pad, the red edge was rubbed with gold metallic rub-on, and the navy layer left plain.
The next card:-  stamped onto green vellum with winter illusions EP, and cut a square of light green with fancy scissors and corner punched so that the vellum could be inserted. I added some snowflakes punched in holographic silver, and then all layered to the white card
The third card was coloured with Victorian Velvet distress inks, and the edges rubbed with gold metallic rub-on. I tore a piece of kraft card that was left over from another project, and stamped with the Victorian velvet DE, and embossed with Dye Boss EP. Finished off with a narrow ribbon, and a punched holly leaf and 3 red beads.

More for the 'c'box

I did not realize how difficult gold stars are to scan! - believe me - these are gold!
This card started out being cut on my Cameo, but it did not cut right through the card, so to rescue it I decided to glue the stars on, and added green Smooch and red kindyglitz to the dots. The tub eas cut from a very small snippet of kraft card, and the sentiment was layered on a snippet of red.

Black and white

A very simple card from me today. I have stamped the message and embossed with white detail EP
I used my cuttlebug to die cut the corner flourish - (madera corner from Memory Box), and also the two flower shapes. The white one was left over from a previous card, and I used another scrap to die cut the patterned piece. I finished off the centre with a white candi
I would like to enter the challenge at Cuttlebug Mania, for black and white,  and also at Pixie's Playground, because I raided my snippets box!

I am following the challenge this week at

A lazy week

There has not been much happening in my craft room this week, as we have had a visitor.
This card idea was taken from a cardmaking magazine, and I have used snippets down the left side and edged with a dotty piece. The compass was from the kit which came with the mag.
I have just got time to slip this one into

Lovely lace

Today's card features a gorgeous stamp from Indigo Blu called Elizabeth Bennet, which I bought when I was in the UK earlier this year. I added a little sparkle to the centres, and added a piece of old lace to the lower edge.

Happy Birthday

This card (CASed from Beccy, Scrappin and Stampin in GJ)  has been stamped with bundled sage DI and a stamp from my JoFy set. I overlapped and bent them a bit. Next I stamped the sentiment on a snippet of green card, and cut a snippet from a piece that had been sprayed with Dylusions to match the red flowers. Added some liquid pearls in the centres.

I have been following the posts at PaperArtsy and have been inspired by Liz Borer and her amazing projects. I have followed her suggestions and made some shrink plastic buttons.
