Summertime!

Welcome back, so nice to have you here
I have made another card using the ephemera that Crystal sent me. All the pieces are so colourful, and this certainly reminds me of summer, even though we are mid-winter here! I used two of the patterned pieces for the background, then layered the image with a scrap of black card, and added a matching button for extra interest

Dandelion Wishes

Welcome

Today's card is made from 'smooshing' colour onto an embossing folder and then running it through my cuttlebug. I used faded jeans, mermaid lagoon, cracked pistachio, distress ink and forest moss dox.

The folder is from a free set from a magazine that I was given, and also has stamps that are in the same theme. I used one of the butterflies to stamp on vellum, emboss with detail white ep and fussy cut. I also stamped the message from another set onto vellum and tore it into a strip which I attached with Art Glitter Glue

Owl Christmas

 Welcome
Today's card follows the sketch from BYSH cardmakers
I have used some DP from a magazine as the background and used a toning card for the scalloped pieces. I stamped the Christmas owl on a scrap of white, diecut into a circle and layered onto the scalloped circle. I then trimmed it back so I could attach it to the side. After colouring with Promarkers, I stamped the TH hat onto red card and also white card, so that I could paper piece the trim. I also added a snowflake sticker which I attached to the blue card and fussy cut
The base card is a dark navy colour

Hi everyone

Today's card was a bit of an experiment for the challenge at Lets Squash It,

The theme is nature and watercolours.

I rubbed distress inks - pumice stone, walnut stain, and black soot directly onto the embossing folder then spritzed with water.

After running through my cuttlebug and allowing it to dry naturally I added some string to the wavy lines, trimmed and adhered to a white card base

Hi everyone

I am back today with a card that I made this afternoon.

I used a digi from Stamplorations which I have coloured with chalk pastels for the flowers and Promarkers for the butterflies.

I cut through it diagonally, but trimmed around the butterfly. In the space I inserted a strip and stamped the sentiment with Brilliance graphite black using my Misti

Full 0f Happy!

Hello and welcome

Today's card features some bright rainbow colours on Yupo paper. It was in my background box, and I can't remember exactly how I did it. I trimmed it to layer onto a black card base and stamped my crazy bird onto a scrap and coloured him to match. I also stamped the message on a scrap with 'Shades dye ink' in orange, and outlined the 'happy' with a black pen

Under the sea

Welcome back to my blog
Today's card started off with a 'painty' background that I did not like, so I swiped over it with a small DI ink pad 'faded jeans' and then splashed some water on.
My stamp is from  Kaisercraft called  Coastal Escape, and I lightly coloured some of the seaweed. I diecut the sea horse with my cuttlebug from a scrap and coloured with copics, then used the seahorse stamp from the set to stamp some detail. The two little starfish and the rock were diecut as well. It is adhered to a black base card

Hi everyone

I have just returned from Radiology where I had an ultrasound on my thyroid. They found a couple of 'lumps', so now will await another Doctor's appointment. It seems to have been a never-ending round of specialist appointments  in the last six months!

Back to my card.

I adhered a piece of DP to my black card base and then added the 3 green strips which I coloured by swiping with my Memento 'bamboo leaves' ink pad. I then added a double layer flower from my embellishments box, and the peeloff which I had coloured black.

Christmas Wishes

Hello everyone, I hope you are keeping well
My card today follows the sketch from Sketch Saturday
I have used a New Zealand made stamp of a pohutukawa blossom, which is better  known as our New Zealand Christmas tree, as it blooms at Christmas time and is a stunning sight, usually found in coastal areas. I highlighted the ends with red Kindyglitz, which doesn't show so well in the scan.I also trimmed some sparkly washi tape to edge the sentiment which was stamped with Brilliance, I think the colour is called red gold

Lets Squash It #7

Hello all and welcome
This is one of the cards that I have made for Mother's Day, which is May 9th in our country
I have specifically made it for the 'Lets Squash It challenge' where we have been asked for 3 embossing folders and a person.
I cut my background piece and inserted a dotty one in the gap so that it would fit in my card
I then embossed the floral strip, computer generated the message, and added this lovely little vintage girl.

Perfectly Pantone

I am using this beautiful stamp again from Paperbabe. I stamped it on yellow card with a slightly deeper yellow ink and then fussy cut. I positioned it in the bottom right corner and trimmed off the excess, and added a touch of yellow Wink of Stella to highlight

I then used an embossing folder to make the flag message and mounted on a scrap of the yellow card, and adhered to the pale grey card base.

These are the current Pantone colours as requested for

Bee Happy!

Good morning all
Today's bright and cheerful card is all about the bees!
I first stamped a portion of honeycomb background ( Indigo Blu) to the right, and then diecut a circle from a scrap that was lying on my desk.
I stamped it with the hive and smaller bee, and edged with a black marker
The words were stamped directly onto the card, and the larger bee on a scrap and the fussy cut
They were all embossed with detail clear ep and the large bee is raised on mounting tape

Spring Summer coffee lovers

Hi everyone, I have been away, so had to make a card quickly this evening for this fabulous hop.

I stamped the background using a very old un-named stamp and expresso ink pad.

I then added a strip of washi, and my lovely Stamplorations sticker which I attached to some kraft card

pillow box

 hi everyone

Today's project is not a card, but a pillow box that I cut out on my Cameo Silhouette, using some Coredinations card that I have been hoarding for many years. I used a funky flower embossing folder on the front and sanded to expose the underlying colour.

The flower is a Dreaming Tree design that I cut using scraps from my never shrinking scrap box, and the stamens are made with a punch

Shadow stamping

My first attempt at this technique after watching a video by Natasha Foote, a fellow kiwi

I used a very old pink stamp pad and part of a set by Rubber Dance (round in circles) to stamp directly onto my base card

Then I used versamark and  a cherry blossom stamp from a Flourishes set, and then shifted the stamp slightly and stamped with a white  ink pad. The sentiment is stamped onto velum, trimmed and wrapped around, and I also added some white highlights with a white Sharpie pen

Purple

Good morning all, I hope you are enjoying your day.

We will shortly be going to do our weekly grocery shop, so just time to do this post beforehand

This design is similar to one I saw recently

I stamped my flower (Paperbabe) onto a scrap with Shades Dye ink in purple majesty, coloured with  Promarker orchid and Copic Sketch amethyst, and the centre with Wink of Stella gold. After trimming down I edged both layers with gold pen and marked out a square onto the first layer. I also outlined with gold the message piece and used a peeloff for the message. I have hundreds of these to use so you will be seeing a lot of them!!

Blue Lily

Good afternoon all

I found some time today to have a play with some of the goodies I received from Mrs A for winning one of her competitions recently

I wet  lines through one of the pretty papers, so that I could pull off a strip to layer across my card.

I have coloured the flower with the Spectrum-Noir  'Starry Sky' Sparkle pen and dragged out the colour with water. I then used the Nuvo glitter Marker 'Imperial Blue" to highlight the edges.

The green leaves are painted with  Magic Colour 'grecian olive'

I have added a peel-off which I coloured blue to match
